Founder Michael T. Capone started out at the dawn of the independent film movement, studying under (and later working with) Academy Award winning documentary filmmakers, Julia Reichert and Jim Klein, earning a BFA in Motion Pictures Production from Wright State University's acclaimed film program. Early on he served as co-Editor and Associate Producer of the infamous cult film, THE MANSON FAMILY and as Assistant to the Producers of the first feature film video game adaptation, DOUBLE DRAGON. A prestigious career as an award winning TV and Film Editor followed, during which he amassed more than sixty credits. Capone also Wrote, Produced, Directed and occasionally Acted in an eclectic array of projects, experiences which honed both his craft and passion for creative collaboration. He is priviledged to have enjoyed a fruitful collaboration with Severin Films founder David Gregory as an Editor and Co-Producer on multiple documentary features, including; BLOOD & FLESH: The Reel Life and Ghastly Death of Al Adamson, TALES OF THE UNCANNY and SUZZANNA: The Queen of Black Magic.

It went on to win Best Documentary at the South Africa Horrorfest.
The film later anchored a collection of Folk Horror films restored and released to home video by Severin Films and streamed on both AMC+ and Shudder.
Tales of the Uncanny: The Ultimate Survey of Anthology Horror was nominated for a Fangoria Chainsaw Award as well a Rondo Award in the Best Documentary category. Originally conceived as a modest bonus feature for the special edition release of The Theatre Bizarre, production ramped up when lockdown settled in, resulting in an international zoom-enabled feature documentary on the evolution, challenges and best examples of the beloved genre. Co-Produced & Edited by Capone. The film is hosted by author/director Kier-La Janisse (Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched: A History of Folk Horror) and David Gregory and who query a roster of more than 60 horror writers, directors and scholars, including; Eli Roth, Joe Dante, Mick Garris, Ernest Dickerson, Joko Anwar, Kim Newman, Jovanka Vuckovic, Luigi Cozzi, Tom Savini, Jenn Wexler, Larry Fessenden, Richard Stanley, Brian Yuzna and Rebekah McKendry in a candid discussion of the very best anthology movies in fright film/TV history.
Capone also Co-Produced and Edited the feature length ZOMBIES & BIKERS and the shorter RAISING THE DEAD, detailing the behind-the-scenes story of the making of George A. Romero's seminal DAWN OF THE DEAD. Both films were nominated for a Rondo Award and are included as part of Second Sight Film's exhaustive 4K restoration of the undead classic.
Blood & Flesh: The Reel Life & Ghastly Death of Al Adamson was Capone's first collaboration with Director David Gregory (Lost Soul, Plague Town) an in depth examination of the wild career and shocking murder of a maligned and forgotten drive-in movie director. The critically acclaimed documentary world premiered at the 2019 Fantasia Film Festival and then went on to a number of popular film festivals including: MOTEL X, Brooklyn Horror and BeyondFest. Screen Anarchy said, "If the storytelling is good, the doc will draw you in, whether the subject was something you care about or not. Gregory's BLOOD & FLESH is one of those documentaries..." Chris Alexander called it, "An intimate, riotus, affectionate and ultimately profoundley sad essay that is an essential watch not just for horror history fans, but anyone remotely interested in the waning days of the anti-establishment, Hollywood fringe maverick."

Capone was Assistant to the Producers of DOUBLE DRAGON a 1994 American sci-fi martial arts flick based on the the popular video game series. It was Directed by James Yukich, whose previous credits included primarily music videos like "That's All" and Invisible Touch" from the band Genesis. DD starred Mark Dacascos and Scott Wolf as brothers Jimmy and Billy Lee, along with Alyssa Milano as Marian Delario and Robert Patrick as antagonist Koga Shuko, the plot takes place in an earthquake-crippled Los Angeles in 2007; the city is styled as a mix between a post-apocalyptic and 80s/90s punk environment. |

While earning a BFA in Motion Pictures Production at Wright State University in the late 1980s, Michael T. Capone studied under and later worked closely with legendary Academy Award winning (American Factory) and Emmy winning (A Lion in the House) documentarians Julia Reichert and Jim Klein. He appeared in and contributed to the screenplay of Reichert's narrative debut feature Emma and Elvis and apprenticed with Klein as an Editor on the feature documentary Letter to the Next Generation: Kent State 20 Years After.
In the 1990s, he served as Assistant to the Producers of Double Dragon, the first film ever to be adapted from a video game. At the same time, he served as Associate Producer and Co-Editor of the infamous, low budget cult film, The Manson Family. During this period he also spent time as an actor in stage productions and short films like The Living and My Sweet Satan.
After moving to New York City, he became Assistant Manager and Staff Editor at the iconic film and video supply house Rafik, the central hub for independent filmmakers like Spike Lee and Jim Jarmusch, as well and public access TV creators, then a major cultural force. For a year he was employed as Archivist and Teaching Assistant, in the Acting for Film & Television class, at the famed Lee Strasberg Theater Institute.
Following an extended, creatively energizing stint at Fountainhead, a boutique advertising firm in Hell's Kitchen, he spent three seasons at CBS, as a Creative Contributor, Editor and In-Show Announcer on the boundry pushing late night comedy series The Howard Stern Radio Show.
Capone closely collaborated with the late great Actor/Director Bob Balaban on two TV productions: The First Amendment Project: No Joking examining the life of transgressive comedian Lenny Bruce and the pilot episode of a reality based game show series, Celebrity Charades which was Co-Produced by then married Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe. He'd go on to work with Rick Cosnett of The Flash and Palm Royale, and the most excellent Jesse L. Martin of Rent and Law & Order fame, who teamed up to create the one-of-a-kind short film The Letter Carrier.
As an Editor Capone launched programs for HBO, AMC, Comedy Central, Discovery, edited half of the first season of IFC’s first scripted series, The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman as well as specials for ABC, Paramount, MTV and many, many more.
As a Writer and Creative Producer he's written and developed properties for comedian Tim Allen's Boxing Cat Films, including adapting work from the stage to the screen and an extensive proposal for sequel to Galaxy Quest. There have been stints alongside Trigger Street founders, the Kassen Brothers and at the wildly creative DiGa Studios. He Produced and Edited career retrospectives honorong the work of actor Michael Caine and impressario Quincy Jones.
Recently Capone Produced, Wrote, Directed and Edited his feature film debut, DAMNATION which is currently in postproduction.
